Lecturer of Educational Research Methods and Evaluation at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM), member of the research group “Educational Change for Social Justice” (GICE).
Degree in Philosophy and Literature, Sciences of Education (1986), Degree in Psychopedagogy (1999), Doctor in Sciences of Education (1996). Since 2003 she works full time at the Autonomous University of Madrid. Previously she has been lecturer at the University of Alcalá de Henares, Universidad Pontificia Comillas and Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has participated in 11 Innovation projects recognized by the UAM.
She has been ViceDean for Research and Innovation at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Academic Secretary of the Department of Teaching and Theory of Education and Coordinator of the Master in Quality and Improvement of Education.
She has 1 recognized research accreditation. It currently has 934 citations, an index h-index of 17, an index of 21 and more than 35 articles published in Idex Journals She has participated in over 40 research projects funded in national and international competitive calls, two of which as Principal Researcher: “Schools in socioeconomically challenging contexts: An approach from the Education for Social Justice” (EDU2014-56118-P ) and “The educational change from within: The role of counsellors in the improvement processes in secondary schools” (CCG10-UAM / HUM-5583).
In the last ten years, she has focused on research on “Education for Social Justice” by participating in the following projects I + D + i: “Democracy in schools as the foundation of education for social justice” (EDU2017-82688- P), “Schools in socio-economically challenging contexts: An approach from the Education for Social Justice” (EDU2014-56118-P), “Schools for Social Justice” (EDU2011-29114) and “educational Leadership for Social Justice “(EDU2010-18224).
Belongs to the scientific committee of REICE. Iberoamerican Journal on Quality Effectiveness and Change in Education and the Ibero-American Journal of Educational Evaluation. She has been a member of the editorial committee of the Tendencias Pedagógicas Journal. She collaborates in the evaluation of papers of numerous journals like the Education Journal, Educational Profiles, Bordón (JCRs) etc. She has been an evaluator of Research Projects in the European Science Education Initiative, FP6-2003 Science & Society 5 from the European Union and, in Latin America, in the Program for the Promotion of Educational Reforms in Latin America and the Caribbean, PREAL. She has collaborated as an expert in evaluation for different public and private institutions and she has been National Coordinator of projects like TIMSS and IAEP (IEA).
